The 8th Private edition release for 2017 finished in baked madeira wine casks (Bacalta meaning baked in gaelic) after initial maturation in Ex-Bourbon casks and bottled at 46% ABV
Nose: Freshly baked apricot danish pastries and baked goods, marzipan, orange fondant, triopical fruit (mango & passion fruit) a dusting of sweet spices (cinnamon & clove) toasted vanillin oak.
Palate: Sweet stock syrup, baklava or middle eastern sweets, blossom honey, toasted pistachio nuts, marzipan, aromatic spices, orange curd, apricot glaze on freshly baked sponge cake & turkish delight.
Finish: Lingering middle eastern sweets and spices, floral honey, baked goods with apricot glaze, marzipan, sugared almonds, toasted nuts and more turkish delight.
Full of eastern promise with a real mediterranean dessert menu of flavours to enjoy, a real scottish delight of a limited release from the always innovative private edition range.
