The second gin created by Kent’s Greensand Ridge distillery for That Boutique-y Gin Company! This time, they’ve taken inspiration from the areas of salt marsh that can be found in Weald – and apparently explored via punt (the boat, not the indents on the bottom of bottles), as seen on the Salt Marsh Gin label. A gin with a sense of terroir, it features a number of botanicals that you might find in a salt marsh.
Nose: A clear, vibrant salinity leads, with support from woody, vegetal aromas. Rain-watered pines, botanical sweetness and full, thick spices round it off.
Taste: The palate reveals a robust gin teeming with herbs and woody spices. Creamy juniper coasts a bouquet of dried flowers. Sweet liquorice and orange oil run through a backdrop of aromatic pine.
Finish: Spices percolate throughout the finish.
