Cheval Quancard is a large wine producer and négociant based in Bordeaux. The company was founded in 1844 by Pierre Quancard and today offers an extensive portfolio of Bordeaux wines from appellations around the region, including Saint-Émilion and the Médoc.
In the 100 years following its foundation, the company grew and developed significantly under the management of successive generations of the Quancard family. Marcel Quancard took control in the early 1930s and was responsible for creating the company’s iconic horse trademark in the late 1960s.
This wine’s 12 months in wood have given the rich Merlot fruitiness extra ripeness and added a smoky, perfumed element. Full of young tannins at this stage, it is already showing promising black fruits and acidity. Drink this dense wine from 2021.
