Mascota Vineyards is a wine producer in the Mendoza region of Argentina. It produces red wines from Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and several other varieties, plus white wine from Chardonnay. The operation is a special project of Grupo Peñaflor and its winemaker Rodolfo Sadler.
The principal property is Finca La Mascota in Cruz de Piedra in the Maipû region. This is home to 97 hectares (240 acres) of vines planted on mainly alluvial clay-loam soil. Further vineyards are located in other subregions across Mendoza.
Gran Mascota comprises a Malbec and a Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from vineyards in the Uco Valley. Both are aged in French oak for 18 months
This Malbec presents aromas of ripe red fruits such as plums and cherries with hints of mint. Juicy on the palate, with velvety tannins. Herbaceous on the mid palate with a mineral character. Long and persistent finish.
