Sangiovese 100%
Azienda Agraria Lisini is a leading wine estate in Montalcino, Tuscany, with around 20 hectares (50 acres) of vineyards. It is most famous for its Brunello di Montalcino reds which are considered to be some of Italy’s best Sangiovese wines. The first vintage was 1975. The estate has some 20 hectares (50 acres) of vineyards in the southern part of Montalcino, where the free-draining, porous soils are well-suited to Sangiovese. Winemaking is traditional with fermentation in glass-lined concrete tanks and aging in large Slavonian oak casks.
Deep ruby red that is refined over the years to almost bright orange. The nose is slightly ethereal with extraordinary elegance with hints of undergrowth, tobacco, violet and vanilla; dry flavor, but at the same time soft, full and harmonious, firm, consistent and aristocratic. On palate its give cherry with the merest suggestion of dried fruit but much more compelling than it sounds. Long yet still subdued on the finish and with finely grained tannins and only at the very end revealing complex depth.
