Malbec 100%
Cahors in South-West France, just north of Toulouse, is the original home of Malbec.Clos de Gamot is an old vineyard of 18 ha, with only one grape variety: the Malbec. It has a superb “terroir” clay-siliceous, with pebbles and silex. One part of its vines are 120 years old and still producing some grapes. They were planted immediately after the phylloxera epidemic, in 1885.
The 2008 vintage was a beautiful vintage in Cahors producing wines expressing potential as they age. On the noise, there are earthy notes, snow peas, spice and generous fruits of the forest. This wine is medium bodied, with a signature balance of oak integration and acidity.
