Cabernet Sauvignon 65%, Merlot 30% and 5% Petit Verdot
Château Vieux Coutelin emerged thanks to Saint-Estephe land consolidations that took place in the 1970s and is located in the commune known as Coutelin. The vineyard was classed as a Crus Bourgeois in 2011 and continues to produce wines worthy of that standard. Found on the Left Bank alongside Margaux, Paulliac & Saint-Julien.
This St Estephe is wonderfully balanced on palate. Refined tannins with great freshness of acidity and long elegant finish. This is a more approachable Saint-Estephe which is drinking wonderfully now but still has a few years of evolution to come. Bouquet of ripe cherries, black currants, floral, smoky and toasted woody notes. This is an impressive red.
