Merlot 52%, Cabernet Franc 45% and Cabernet Sauvignon 3%
The “Grand Vin”, a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru and a Premier Grand Cru Classé since 1955, is renowned for its finesse and ageing potential. It displays an attractive deep red colour and a powerful, elegant nose with aromas of red and black fruits.
This vintage is powerful, with a deep dark colour. The tannins are numerous but full ripe and fade-out. Indeed, if like nearly for everybody, the Merlots are very successful, which will give attraction and elegance to this 2000 TrotteVieille.
Bought in 1947 by the Castéja family, Château TrotteVieille, 1st Grand Cru Classé in 1855, is a very old Estate. A legend states that an elderly Lady living in the surroundings in the 14th century used to walking over to where the Bordeaux stagecoaches stopped.Characterized by an unique terrior (12 ha of vines) stretching over a calcareous plateau with a subsoil of clay and an important percentage of Cabernet Franc, TrotteVieille produces exceptional wines which are known for their traditional character and their minerality.
