80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Merlot, 3% Petit verdot
The 2010 Haut-Bages Libéral wine boasts a superb structure of ultra fine tannins and a wonderful, fragrant scent of juicy red cherries. It’s a perfectly balanced blend of highly polished, but not pushed, summer fruit, with a Pauillac-style finesse and a soaring finish. Despite the fact that it is directly adjacent to the renowned Ch. Pichon-Lalande and Ch. Latour, Claire Villars will keep her feet on the terroir and price it so that we can all afford it. This is a fantastic wine.
Fully developed, medium-bodied, soft, round and loaded with ripe, dark, sweet red fruits, tobacco leaf, ash and cigar box notes. A touch of dryness in the finish accompanies the red fruits, herbs and earth.
