Merlot 70%, Cabernet Franc 25% and Cabernet Sauvignon 5%
One of Saint-Emilion’s most famous Domaines, synonymous with elegance and refinement. The vineyard dates back to the 3rd century, when the Romans planted the first vines in the region. In 1787, a first part of its name was attributed by General Jacques de Carles, “beau séjour” in memory of the pleasure he had taken in residing there.
A deep, dark, impenetrable, ruby-red/purple colour. The aromas are an attractive combination of lifted, ripe red & black fruits with some sweet oak spice notes. The palate is savoury with supple tannins & fresh, open fruit character. The tannins show some grip at the finish leaving it drying & savoury with a slight alcohol warmth rounding out the finish. An attractive wine relying more on balance than concentration.
