The origins of the estate are very ancient. The vines have been cultivated on the slopes of what is now the Chateau Pavie since the 4th century. Owned by Chantal and Gérard Perse since March 1998, Château Pavie, a 1st Grand Cru Classé “A”, possesses one of the most beautiful terroirs of Saint-Émilion. Château Pavie is recognised for the structure and elegance of its wines.
Arômes de Pavie is the Second Wine of this iconic estate in Saint- Emilion made from vines averaging 53 years old located southeast of the Saint-Émilion hill. This 13.5-hectare vineyard is planted on the “plateau” composed of a clay-limestone soil above the limestone with asterias. Particular attention is paid to the vineyard: pruning, green harvesting and leaf thinning vary according to the age of the vines.
