Château Lafleur is a tiny (4.5ha, 11 acres) family-run property in the Pomerol appellation on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. Famous US wine critic Robert Parker has called it “one of the most distinctive, most exotic, and greatest wines that not only in Pomerol, but in the world”.
It has a superb bouquet with great minerality pretty notes of redcurrant and crushed strawberry with a hint of stone. The palate is medium-bodied with a succulent spicy opening. The tannins have a slightly chalky texture but there is good weight in the middle leading to a structure but not over-powering finish that displays very fine precision.
