CHATEAU DU CEDRE EXTRA LIBRE ‘MALBEC’, CAHOR 2021/22

Malbec 90%, Merlot 5% and Tannat 5%

Cahors in South-West France, just north of Toulouse, is the original home of Malbec. This wine is produced without any added materials such as sulphur or yeast to aid the winemaking process so we have a wine made entirely naturally just from pure fermented grapes. This results in an incredibly pure wine that is exceptionally expressive and seems to capture the essence of Malbec.

The nose reveals a bouquet of black fruits and spices, with subtle vegetal notes. On the palate, the light tannins allow us to appreciate a suave and elegant wine. As the wine ages, it reveals more of its spicy flavors and its light grain of tannins on the finish.
