Our original and most elaborate version of Mezcal Machetazo hails from the mountains of Mochitlan, Guerrero, and is organically and ecologically certified. This agave grows on the mountain slopes of the Rio Balsas basin, and the high elevation where it grows is optimal for mineral absorption, giving birth to a sweeter flavour that is distinctive to the Wild Cupreata Agave. To achieve the optimal concentration of natural sugars and minerals in the centre of the agave or pia, the Wild Cupreata Agaves must reach a maturity level of roughly 7 years.
