Santa Carolina, founded in 1875 and currently owned by the Larrain family, proudly champions Chilean Heritage with a focus on innovation. Through the journey of the valleys, Santa Carolina respects each varietals typicity and treasures the expression of fruit. The estates, owned and managed by Santa Carolina, are located in Maipo, Rapel, Leyda, Casablanca and Colchagua.
Full bodied and concentrated, bursting with blackcurrant fruit flavours, cassis and hints of cedar wood on the long velvety finish. The grapes were grown in the Miraflores vineyards, which has some of the oldest vines in the Colchagua Valley. The valley has the perfect weather for growing grapes with clearly defined seasons with cool, rainy winters and warm summers with high daytime temperatures, moderated by cool nights. This allows the grapes to slowly ripen and develop complex flavours. The wine was aged for eight months in French oak barrels before being bottled. This wine is a good match to tomato based pasta sauces, especially Bolognese, and red meat dishes.
