Douglas Laing’s ‘Scallywag-Cask Strength’ Blended Malt Scotch Whisky 12 Y.O 700ml

It’s a 12 year old limited edition expression of Douglas Laing’s Scallywag blended malt, marrying Speyside single malts which have been matured exclusively in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. After the whisky was sufficiently sherried, the casks yielded 6,000 bottles at a cask strength of 53.6% ABV, bottled without colouring or chillfiltering, complete with the familiar friendly fox terrier on the label sporting a monocle.

Aroma: Detect richly imbued, dark macerated fruits and molasses – all jam-packed with spices.
Palate: As opulent and sweet as anticipated, with a treacle and maple syrup style, amongst its vanilla pods and the Malted barley
Finish: A long and distinctively moreish finish, with gentle tail-ending spices
