Dewar’s Caribbean Smooth is a blend of up to 40 single malts and grain whiskies that have been aged for at least 8 years and then double aged, before being finished in ex Caribbean rum casks for up to six months, creating a Caribbean smooth finish.
Quite soft and mellow, with caramel, brown sugar and tropical fruits really standing out from the typical Dewar’s profile. Surprisingly smells so much like rum after 6 months in rum casks.
Smooth and immediately on the sweet side. Lots of caramel and brown sugar here, plus tropical fruits. Creamy and fruity, banana, citrus notes, toffee and caramel.
Short and sweet. That is, very much on the sweet side of things.
