Château Potensac has a long family history. Indeed, this estate belongs to the Delon family since a very long time and has always been passed down from generation to generation by the women of the family. Today, the estate is run by Jean-Hubert Delon, who keeps it from his paternal grandmother, Georgette Liquard. Château Potensac is generally recognized as one of the major growths of the Médoc appellation. Moreover, it is the only one, at the classification of Crus Bourgeois of 2003 of the Médoc appellation, to have been classified Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel.
Very favourable weather conditions in April and June allowed a very even bud-burst and flowering in 2015. The hot and dry summer then ensured a complete degradation of any vegetal aromas as well as a welcome hydric stress, beneficial for the thickening of the grape skins and a rapid maturation of the pips. The colour change was also beautifully even thanks to the regular rain showers. The careful thinning out and vine care during the growth cycle meant the bunches remained perfectly healthy right through to the end of harvest-time.
