The vineyards of Château Lafleur Beauséjour cover an area of 10 hectares. They plant 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. The quality of the wines is a result of an exceptional terroir. The soil is made of sand and clay-limestone, which brings lightness as well as concentrated aromas to the grapes. After the harvest, maceration takes up to 30 days using a vertical press with wooden cages. The wine is matured for 12 to 24 months before bottling. The average age of the wine is 25 years old and the oldest parcel dates back to 1968. With a yield of 50 to 55 hl/hectare, the wines will show a great character and complexity. The wines of Château Lafleur Beauséjour have a perfect balance with a dark color, soft tannins and ripe fruit aromas.
On the nose nice aromas of red fruit, mocha and plum. Medium bodied palate with strawberries, vanilla, coffee and a really pleasantly “light” mocha overtone. Soft tannins and decent finish making this a pleasant everyday wine.
