As early as 1815, the broker Guillaume Lawton said of Château Lafite: “I classified it as possessing the most elegance and delicacy and the finest sap of the three [Premiers Crus]. The position of its vines is one of the most beautiful in the Médoc”. In 1855, the Château will be consecrated 1st Grand Cru on the occasion of the famous Classification drawn up during the Universal Exhibition.
Beautiful intense garnet red color. Complex and fruity nose characteristic of 2014, presents beautiful floral notes. We perceive a slight toasted note, but the wood is already well melted. On the palate, the wine takes on a great breadth, it is powerful while remaining elegant. Blackberry and blackcurrant assert themselves again here and are well complemented by notes of violets and cedar so often present in Lafite wines. The palate is fresh, harmonious and very long. It has a nice balance between richness and finesse. It is a wine that you will have to know how to wait about ten years, before it reaches its peak of tasting
