3rd wine of Chateau Ducru Beaucaillou
Cabernet Sauvignon 50%
Merlot 40%
Cabernet Franc 10%
Barrel aging 12 months with 1/3 new French Oak
This wine produced on west of Saint-Julien, is made mainly from Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Thus, it draws part of its fruitiness from Merlot while Cabernet Sauvignon gives it a dense structure on the palate. This wine, going against fashion, is only produced from 1/3 new barrels. The woodiness, discreet, allows the wine to express itself with notes of ripe fruit and mint. On the palate, very structured, this wine can however be appreciated on the crispness of its fruit or can be kept for a few years in the cellar.
